Yes! All amika products feature the signature fragrance! We describe the amika scent as an intoxicating blend of warm vanilla, spicy sweet clover, and fresh citrus. 

 

Most orders placed before 4pm EST will ship the same day. Should you need to cancel your order, we will do our best to accommodate if we receive an email from you within 2 hours of placing the order at info@loveamika.com.

Please be sure to include your order number in the subject line. Once we cancel your order, we will refund the credit card used for the initial purchase. Please be patient. Seeing a credit on your account can take several business days.

Currently we only ship orders placed through loveamika.com within the contiguous United States (do not ship to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico or US Virgin Islands).

You are able to select one (1) free sample at checkout along with your order. Samples are only included in orders when you select them.

Sample selection varies and is based on available stock. Sometimes when we have sitewide sales, the sample selector will be disabled and samples will be automatically added to orders. We’ll post info on the site to let you know if that is happening! 

Our haircare products are produced in the United States, Canada, and Israel.

Our hair tools are made in China, Switzerland, and Korea.

amika never has and never will conduct animal testing. When we create a product, we test it on ourselves, our friends, and anyone and everyone we can get our hands on! We test on people, never animals.

To show our commitment to being cruelty-free, amika has been certified under the Leaping Bunny Standard.:rabbit2::rabbit2::rabbit2:🐰

Occasionally products are discontinued permanently. These decisions aren’t made lightly and are usually based on a complex number of factors. It always makes us sad when a product gets put into our discontinued category, however, getting rid of the old means we’re making way for something new. 

Innovation is a top priority for amika; we’re always looking into how we can innovate and make our formulas even better for our friends. Technologies, ingredient innovations, and customer needs are constantly evolving, and we want to stay on the pulse of trends to deliver best-in-class products.

After receiving your confirmation email, you can check the status of your order here at any time. Just use the same email you placed the order with, as well as the order number you received in your confirmation email.

You will receive an email with tracking information once your order has been processed and shipped!

amika orders ship business days (Monday through Friday from 8:30am-5:30pm EST, excluding major holidays). We will ship your order with the fastest available method for your order (which can depend upon weight and contents), which is why we don’t provide an ‘expedited’ option at this time – we already expedite your order’s shipping! 😊

amika offers free shipping on orders $50 or more to the contiguous 48 U.S. states on all orders. Orders that are below $50 will be charged a $10 flat shipping rate. Orders that contain salon merch items are charged a $10 flat shipping rate.

We currently do not ship to P.O. boxes, APO, FPO, DPO destinations, and freight forwarding addresses. We do not ship to Canada and Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam, U.S. Virgin Islands and all other U.S. territories at this time.

We require 1-2 business days for processing, and shipping can take up to 3-6 business days. For questions, please contact Customer Service at info@loveamika.com.

We ship each order with the fastest delivery method available for each order — in light of current delivery transit times, please allow up to an additional week for your order to be processed and delivered. During this time, tracking may not update daily, and may show a “Pending” delivery status. Just like us, our carriers are doing everything they can to get your order to you ASAP!

The majority of our haircare line is Certified Vegan, however, a small handful of products use animal-derived ingredients. Hydrolyzed Keratin is utilized in Vault Color-Lock Leave-In Conditioner, Supernova and Supernova Blonde use an animal-derived Polysorbate, and The Shield contains an animal-derived Propylene Glycol.

We are currently working towards being 100% Certified Vegan.

Silicones have a bad rep – but they are not always detrimental to your hair! They help create a sleek, shiny look but can sometimes weigh down hair. When we formulate products we determine whether silicones would be beneficial to the product. We are not always silicone-free, but we also don’t see that as a bad thing!

What are they and what do they do?

Silicones are used in hair care to provide shine and lubrication, and they also provide glide, slip, conditioning, and detangling benefits!

 

Should I avoid silicones?

Silicones are non-toxic and completely safe for use in hair care products! They provide a multitude of benefits, which is why they are commonly found in many formulas – not just in our collections, but other brands as well! Some may have concerns about how silicones can build up in your hair over time, so you may want to be mindful of this, and we’re working toward either eliminating or using water-soluble silicones as we re-evaluate each product for performance!

All haircare products are free from sulfates, parabens + phthalates.

In an effort to minimize plastic waste, we do not ship pumps with each liter bottle and encourage clients to reuse pumps from bottle to bottle! 

 

When you add a liter product to your cart on the site, you should see a pop-up window that asks if you need pumps or if you’ll reuse your old pumps. (If you have pop-ups blocked in your browser, however, you won’t see this!)
